Welcome to Frisco

Vibrant, burgeoning city with a taste of Old Texas charm

Frisco is an emerging, vibrant city with no shortage of activities and attractions within its boundaries. The community’s highly acclaimed Frisco Independent School District, as well as its proximity to Dallas’s city center and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, make it perfect for families and young professionals alike.

Frisco initially grew around a line of the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway, which was built through the area in 1902. The community then served as a periodic watering hole for the steam engines. Many residents of the nearby community of Lebanon relocated to the area after recognizing its potential and opportunities for growth. The new town was originally called Emerson, but that name was rejected by the U.S. Postal Service as being too similar to another town in Texas. In 1904, the residents chose the name Frisco City in honor of the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway and later shortened it to its present name, Frisco.

A growth spurt occurred in the 1980s, and by 2011, Frisco’s location, quality of life, and visionary leadership made it the fastest growing city in the nation. Today, Frisco's real estate offers its residents a chance to enjoy all that the city has to offer!
